BOOK CLUB FRIDAY--GUEST AUTHORS N.N. LIGHT

N. N. Light is the husband-wife writing team, commonly known as Mr. N and Mrs. N. They write paranormal and contemporary romance as well as poetry. Today Mrs. N sits for an interview. Learn more about N.N. Light at their website and blog.

When did you realize you wanted to write novels?
My first inkling that I wanted to be a writer happened when I was seven. My teacher asked everyone to create a story and share with the class. I worked hard on my story (a princess who leaves her ivory tower in order to save a dragon), and when the day came to share mine, I was petrified (stage fright). I told my story and when I was finished, the room exploded in applause. I was hooked and the writer within me was born.

Is silence golden, or do you need music to write by? What kind?
I need music to write or I should say, my muse needs music playing in the background in order to be inspired. It serves as a soundtrack and many times, a particular lyric will spark a piece of dialogue or pivotal action scene. As for what kind, it varies. When I wrote Princess of the Light, I mostly listened to Pink Floyd and Nickelback.

Describe your process for naming your character?
When I was naming my Big Bad in Princess of the Light, a friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was devastated and I wanted to do something, anything, to make her smile. So, I named my snarky female demon after her, which was hysterical because Lisbeth is the nicest woman you’ll ever meet.

Everyone at some point wishes for a do-over. What’s yours?
When I first met my husband, I was just getting over a bad breakup and wasn’t ready for love. I decided to break his heart before he could break mine, twice. Yup, I broke my future husband’s heart twice before coming to my senses. I wish I could take it back and do it all over again because Mr. N. is the kindest, most thoughtful man I’ve ever met and I’m so grateful he didn’t give up on me.

You’re stranded on a deserted island. What are your three must-haves?
Unlimited supply of chocolate, full tablet filled with my all-time favorite books, my husband Mr. N.

What’s the best book you’ve ever read?
You mean, besides my own? *wink* The best book I’ve ever read has to be A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux. It’s a time-travel romance and I read it a few times a year.

Ocean or mountains?
I love the ocean and have been blessed to have lived next to the Pacific Ocean before I got married. My dream is to retire on a coastline (fingers crossed) where I can see the ocean from my home.

City girl/guy or country girl/guy?
When I was single, I was a total city girl. I loved the hustle and bustle of it all. But now that I’ve been married for twelve years, I yearn to spend time away from cars, traffic and crowds of people. Guess I’m a country girl, not unlike when I was growing up.

What’s on the horizon for you?
I’m a busy bee at the moment with several projects on the go. I’m writing book two in the Princess of the Light series as well as completing a book of love poetry with Mr. N (due out Fall 2016). I operate my own author promotions business with my husband as well as working full-time as a social media marketer for one of the largest coin dealers in Canada. I’m constantly on the go but honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m living my dream life and it’s better than I ever imagined!

Anything else you’d like to tell us about yourself and/or your books?
During the month of September, the ebook edition of Princess of the Light is on sale for the super-low price of $.99 USD. 100% of the proceeds during this time will go directly to our local food bank to help feed children and families in need. This is the first time Princess of the Light has ever been this low and who knows when it will be this low again?

Princess of the Light
Mary's the Princess of the Light but her only hope is to make a pact with her enemy.

Mary Miller receives a startling visitation from Gabriel, the Messenger of God. The Archangel reveals an astounding truth--Mary is the Princess of the Light and even more amazing, her destiny is to battle Lucifer's army of demons and restore the balance of good and evil on Earth. It's getting harder to fulfill her new role and keep her identity secret while juggling her personal life, and when Than, Lucifer's second in command, amps up the attacks on her, she knows she needs help.

Joe Deacons is everything she's ever wanted in a man. And as providence would have it, in a moment of great need, he's the Warrior of Light--the one who can help her defeat the forces of darkness.

Not so simple when they confront Lisbeth, a demon hell-bent on usurping Than and Lucifer himself.  When Lisbeth wages war and several innocent people die, Mary must form an alliance with her enemy in order to destroy her.  But will this be a grave error or the choice that saves their world?
