HEALTHY LIVING WITH JANICE - BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and each year we've showcased various products that are for sale this time of year where all or a percentage of the profits go to breast cancer research. The Ford Motor Co. has been a huge supporter with their Ford Warriors in Pink. This year, they're featuring a $34 scarf where 100% of the net proceeds go to your choice of four charities. Other items with varying percentages of donation include women's and men's clothing, totes, notecards, travel mugs and more.

Kohl's is another company where 100% of the net profits are donated to support the fight against breast cancer. All the products featured in their Kohl's Cares line are either $5 or $10 and include everything from travel mugs to scarves to T-shirts to candles to tote bags, umbrellas and more.

Avon features Pink Ribbon Products where 100% of the net profits go to the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade.

Author Lois Winston has always contributed to breast cancer research because she has a history of breast cancer in her family. Because of that connection, she's decided to contribute part of the sales of her Emma Carlyle books to breast cancer research. Through the end of October, $500 will be donated for every 1,000 books sold. These include Hooking Mr. Right, a romantic comedy; Finding Hope, a romance; Four Uncles and a Wedding, chick lit; and two romantic suspense books, Lost in Manhattan and Someone To Watch Over Me. The books are $3.99 and are available for Kindle, Nook, iPad, Kobo, and other eReaders. You can read excerpts and find buy links at her website. Just think, for less than the price of a venti latte, you can help save the tatas!
