VALENTINE'S DAY--ONCE UPON A ROMANCE WITH AUTHOR LOIS WINSTON

It’s Valentine’s Day! How about a little romance? Several years ago author Lois Winston (she who writes those books about moi) contributed three short stories to three charity anthologies. She recently received the rights back to those stories, added a fourth, and has published Once Upon a Romance, four short love stories. And because it’s Valentine’s Day, Lois has a gift for one of our readers. Post a comment for a chance to win an e-copy of Once Upon a Romance. Don’t forget to include your email address so we can contact you, or check back on Sunday to see if you’ve won. Lois can’t send you a book if she has no way of getting in touch with you. -- AP

Sometimes you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince charming. Follow the heroines of these four fun, flirty, and heartwarming short romances as they deal with love lost and found again. Each tale is a perfect coffee-break read. Titles include:

I’ll Never Fall in Love Again!!!—After receiving a “Dear Jane” text message, Chloe Bradford stitches herself a sampler to reinforce her determination not to lose her heart ever again. Will it work?

Portrait of Love—Amelia Gordon’s husband embezzled millions, then lost it all at the racetrack. Now he’s dead, and she’s the town pariah. Will her crazy idea involving a superstar she’s never met keep the bank from foreclosing?

Your Muse or Mine?—After one too many rejection letters, aspiring romance novelist Tess Shepherd is through with her demanding muse Eunice. With the help of neighbor Greg Fielding, she tosses all her unpublished manuscripts away. Did she do the right thing?

The Reluctant Bridesmaid—Paige loses her boyfriend to her cousin. Now she’s stuck being a bridesmaid at their wedding. Could it get any worse? Too bad there’s never a knight on a white charger hanging around when you need one.

  1. Read like the perfect stories for Valentine's.
Some hit it right with the first frog they kiss, some have to experience several guys before Mr. Rightman appears. The losers, I believe, are those who never try from fear of failing.
