HEALTHY LIVING WITH JANICE--OLIVE OIL FOR ACHY MUSCLES

For years we’ve heard of the benefits of the Mediterranean diet which includes using extra virgin olive oil. But did you know that olive oil can also ease achy muscles? One of the components of olive oil is oleocanthal. As a matter of fact, olive oil is jam-packed with oleocanthal. And oleocanthal is known to speed the repair of damaged muscles.

But don’t start rubbing olive oil all over your arms, legs, and back. You have to ingest the olive oil for it to work. Research has found that consuming approximately three-and-a-half tablespoons of olive oil equals the anti-inflammatory equivalent of about 10% of the standard dose of Motrin or other ibuprofen drugs. So add a liberal drizzle of olive oil to your salads, veggies and other foods each day, and see if you’re less achy.
