#TRAVEL TO TURKS & CAICOS WITH GUEST AUTHOR J.M. MAURER

J.M. Maurer started working as a registered nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit where she cared for critically ill children, transported them from outlying hospitals, and even picked up overtime hours treating patients of all ages while inside a hyperbaric chamber. Holding a Bachelor's degree in nursing, she loves to write about strong characters and their struggles in life. Learn more about J.M. and her books at her website.

Hello. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m J.M. Maurer, author of the Emerging From Darkness trilogy (Seeking Love, Seeking Redemption, Seeking Hope.) I’m also a beach girl at heart. For me, and most likely because I live in Chicago, there’s nothing like a mid-winter getaway to a destination where an abundance of sunshine can warm my skin.

When it came time to send Matthew and Jess off for their wedding in Seeking Hope, I knew there had to be sand at their feet and the sounds of Caribbean music in the air. So I shipped them off to the beautiful islands of Turks & Caicos. Aside from T & C, everything mentioned in Seeking Hope is fictitious. Here are a few photos that were taken this past January when one of Hubbies co-workers visited, ironically for her daughter’s wedding.

With the sun shining an estimated three hundred and fifty days a year, the many miles of uncrowded beaches promised to be the perfect destination for Jess and Matthew’s October wedding. Unfortunately, since Jess has been working through a lingering concern of her own, which she half-avoids by preoccupying herself with a ridiculous plan to help her best friend overcome a commitment issue, she’s oblivious to what’s headed their way. On top of that, Matthew has been keeping a major secret from her.

Will they finally have the beach wedding they deserve? Will Jess help Holly see the light? Even more, can Matthew continue to shelter the love of his life from a real and deadly threat?

As much as I love a beautiful beach, I also adore a happily-ever-after. I’d love to hear about your favorite holiday destination or happily-ever-after.

Seeking Hope
I’d been given promises in the past, all of which were broken. Inevitably, they broke me. I wouldn’t let those broken promises stop me from believing in new ones, though. I couldn’t.

Matthew Moi was different. His dimpled smile and witty sexual banter has held me spellbound since day one. Falling in love with him came easy. Marrying him—a dream come true.

Now, he wants something I’m not sure I’ll ever be ready for. As I struggle, he faithfully remains at my side. Through it all, his protective nature shields me from an evil I didn’t see coming.

Together, we have it all—love, passion, trust. Apart, the possibilities are endless, even death.

#COOKING WITH CLORIS--GUEST AUTHOR J.M. MAURER AND NUTELLA TOFFEE PIE

J.M. Maurer is the author of the Emerging From Darkness trilogy—Seeking Love, Seeking Redemption, and Seeking Hope. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, she enjoys writing about health and wellness, infusing every emotion into her stories from laughter to tears. Learn more about J.M. and her books at her website and blog.

In the Emerging From Darkness trilogy, we meet Jessica Winters, the registered nurse who spends more time eating chocolate than making anything from it, and Matthew Moi, the sexy sex therapist who knows a great deal about the sexual benefits of cocoa, but prefers caramel. Throughout their growing relationship, the two are constantly waging a loving war, using each of their second loves—chocolate and caramel—to rile the other. So, it is only fitting that today we whip up something they both can enjoy:

Easy Nutella Toffee Pie

Ingredients:
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
12 oz. Cool Whip
2/3 cup Nutella (Okay, I’ll be honest, I use a tad more)
1 cup toffee bits
1 graham cracker or Oreo cookie pie crust (I use Oreo, of course)

In an electric mixer, mix together cream cheese and Nutella. Add Cool Whip and mix on low until combined. Stir in 3/4 of the bits. Pour mixture into crust and top with the remaining bits. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Warning: This recipe works very well with strawberries—You get the idea. If not, Dr. Moi is accepting new patients. ;-)

Seeking Love
Every day, Jessica Winters does what she does best—bury herself in patient care within the walls of the neuro intensive care unit, keeping herself busy to escape the dark sadness that controls her life. But the day she sees Matthew Moi, the intriguing man seated at her new patient’s bedside, her shattered heart begins to frantically beat once again.

As Matthew pins his mesmerizing gaze upon her, trying to distract her with his humorous and playful banter, she does her best to ignore him. Somehow he already knows a great deal about her, breaking down Jessica’s barriers and awakening her soul, drawing her out of the darkness and into his arms.

When her painful past resurfaces, revealing truths that threaten her future, Jessica struggles through her issues and fights to stay on a healing path . . . seeking love.
