Tessa offers up a little tongue-in-cheek fashion advice today. -- AP

Next Wednesday, April 18th, is National Wear Your Pajamas to Work Day. No one knows who thought up this holiday, but it’s been celebrated for years at many work places. The holiday is supposed to take place the day after taxes are due because everyone has been up all week getting their taxes done and getting very little, if any, sleep.

Yes, I know taxes are due on April 15th, so National Wear Your Pajamas to Work Day should be April 16th. However, the IRS has moved the filing deadline to Tuesday, April 17th for 2012, probably because the 15th falls on a Sunday this year. So all you procrastinators have two extra days to procrastinate.

Anyway, we here at American Woman are giving you fair warning about next week’s holiday because we know you still want to make a fashion statement, right? Or at least not show up to work wearing that Nirvana T-shirt from 1992 and your boyfriend’s happy face boxers.

So check out some of these suggested jammies to wear while you’re sitting around the office, sipping coffee, eating donuts, and shooting the breeze with your boss (who just might show up in a Nirvana T-shirt and happy face boxers!)

Wild Style Bunny
Wild Style Leopard

I Love Lucy Flannel pajamas

For years I have threatened to show up at work in my pjs. Now I might feel almost obligated to do it! I especially like the crossword puzzle ensemble. But, they are all just too cute! Thanks for the fun post!

Jane, if you do show up at work in your PJ's, I want a picture!

Old, old, old!

Just had a conversation with a much younger friend about the days in which we could not wear slacks to work.

These are so cute! I'd love to have the Elmo pj's to wear when my 2 yr. old granddaughter sleeps over. She's obsessed with Elmo & whenever she's here she wants to "Watch Elmo." That was the first sentence she learned. Luckily we can get on YouTube & find plenty of Elmo for her to watch!
