BYE-BYE MOSQUITOES!

Dryer Sheets—They’re not just for the dryer

One of the downsides of spending evenings on the porch or dining al fresco during the summer months, especially the latter part of the summer, are all those mosquitoes. If you’re like me and can’t stand the smell or greasy feel of bug repellant or the smell and smoke of citronella candles, you head indoors as soon as the sun begins to sink toward the horizon and the mosquitoes start attacking.

I recently found a non-smelly, non-smoky, non-greasy solution to this problem and have been enjoying evenings outdoors ever since. You probably have it right in your laundry room. It’s your box of Bounce dryer sheets. Believe it or not, tying one to your belt loop will ward off bugs. It turns out that two of the chemicals found in Bounce dryer sheets, linalool and beta-citronella, repel mosquitoes. Who knew? Well, now you do!

Thanks for stopping by, Angela! I don't know if this really works because I haven't tried it, but if you do, let us know.
