ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END...EVEN ROMANCES

In 2013 author Lois Winston, who began her career as a romance author, was invited to join an incredible group of award-winning and bestselling romance authors, shepherded by Amy Gamet, to contribute to Romance Super Bundle, a boxed set of ten romance novels. The anthology was so successful that they followed it up with Romance Super Bundle II: Second Chances in 2014 (This one containing eleven novels), which landed them on the USA Today Bestseller List. Romance Super Bundle III: Aways & Forever debut in 2015, and Romance Super Bundle IV: Endless Love in 2016.

These bundles were always meant to be limited editions, and the authors have now decided it’s time to say good-bye to them. All four boxed sets will be delisted at the end of the month. If you’ve never picked up your copies, you still have time but there are only three weeks left. Each bundle is only .99 cents.

MEET STEPHEN CHAPLIN, HERO OF LADY ELINOR'S ESCAPE

Today we sit down with Stephen Chaplin from Lady Elinor’s Escape by author Linda McLaughlin.

What was your life like before your author started pulling your strings?
Quiet and peaceful!

What’s the one trait you like most about yourself?
I pride myself on my honor and integrity.

What do you like least about yourself?
My inability to resist a damsel in distress, as it caused me many difficulties during Lady Elinor’s Escape.

What is the strangest thing your author has had you do or had happen to you?
She made me fall in love with a lady far above my touch. An Earl’s daughter, no less!

Do you argue with your author? If so, what do you argue about?
Alas, there’s no point in arguing with her.

What is your greatest fear?
I fear that my author will match my sister Olivia with my oldest enemy in the next book. I pray she never writes it.

What makes you happy?
Helping people in need.

If you could rewrite a part of your story, what would it be? Why?
I would change the part where I fail to recognize the woman I love at a masquerade. How could the author think I could be so clueless?

Of the other characters in your book, which one bugs you the most? Why?
My nemesis, Marcus Knightley.

Of the other characters in your book, which one would you love to trade places with? Why?
I might be persuaded to change places with my law partner, Owen Tudor. To date, his life has been almost entirely without drama.

Tell us a little something about your author. Where can readers find her website/blog?
She tells me it’s https://lindalyndi.com, though I have no idea what a website/blog, is.

What's next for you?
I have no idea. It’s all up to my nefarious author!

Lady Elinor's Escape
Lady Elinor Ashworth always longed for adventure, but when she runs away from her abusive aunt, she finds more than she bargained for. Elinor fears her aunt, who is irrational and dangerous, threatening Elinor and anyone she associates with. When she encounters an inquisitive gentleman, she accepts his help, but fearing for his safety, hides her identity by pretending to be a seamstress. She resists his every attempt to draw her out, all the while fighting her attraction to him

There are too many women in barrister Stephen Chaplin's life, but he has never been able to turn his back on a damsel in distress. The younger son of a baronet is a rescuer of troubled females, an unusual vocation fueled by guilt over his failure to save the woman he loved from her brutal husband. He cannot help falling in love with his secretive seamstress, but to his dismay, the truth of her background reveals Stephen as the ineligible party.

#TRAVEL BACK TO THE GOLD RUSH WITH GUEST AUTHOR LINDA McLAUGHLIN

Linda McLaughlin grew up with a love of history, so it’s only natural that she sets most of her books in the past. Learn more about her and those books at her website

I’m thrilled about my latest release, Lily and the Gambler, a Western romance set in the California Gold Country, included in Romance Super Bundle IV: Endless Love.

My husband and I toured the area twice some years ago and I fell in love with it. Gold Country is best enjoyed by driving State Highway 49. We started at the southern end, in Mariposa, and drove north to Sacramento, and then Grass Valley and Nevada City, where my book is set in September 1868. I recall scribbling descriptions of the scenery as we drove along.

We made the trip twice, first strictly as a vacation, though I kept thinking how I’d like to set a story in the area. The second was a research trip for me, if not for my DH. At one point, he threatened to divorce me if I dragged him through one more mining museum!

A lot of the old Victorian homes have been turned into bed and breakfasts, and we took advantage of that to stay in some lovely old homes.

Interesting stops along the way include:

Sonora, a lovely little town that hosts the Railtown 1897 State Historic Park. For the kid in all of us.

Columbia State Historic Park, the best preserved Gold Rush town.

Angels Camp, where Mark Twain heard a story on which he based his short story "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County."

Placerville, formerly nicknamed Hangtown for the zeal of its law enforcement.

And my favorite, Grass Valley, a charming town with the attraction of having the wonderful Empire Mine State Historic Park, a fascinating glimpse into the lives of 19th century miners.

If you’re up this way, do take a side trip to Sacramento, the state capital, with its charming Old Sacramento historic area, and the amazing California State Railroad Museum. This is one of my all-time favorite museums. It was fun to climb aboard the old trains and imagine a different time.

Grass Valley was especially interesting to me because of the large Cornish population in the 19th century. This area had deep gold veins that couldn’t be panned. The Cornish miners were encouraged to come because of their experience in the tin mines of Cornwall, which were petering out. To this day, the Cornish pasty is a local treat, and the city still celebrates a Cornish Christmas.

COOKING WITH CLORIS--BERRY SALAD FROM AUTHOR LINDA McLAUGHLIN

Today we welcome back author Linda McLaughlin, who grew up with a love of history fostered by her paternal grandmother and an incurable case of wanderlust inherited from her father. She has traveled extensively within the United States and has visited Mexico, Canada, & Australia. A lifelong dream came true with a trip to England where she was able to combine sightseeing and theater with research for her novels. She published her first book under the name Lyn O'Farrell. Now Linda writes historical and Regency romance under her own name and sexy to erotic romance under the pen name Lyndi Lamont. Learn more about Linda and her books at her website and blog. Linda joins us today to share a recipe and tell us about her recent release.

My thanks to Lois for inviting me back to Killer Crafts and Crafty Killers.

Today I’m sharing a fruit salad recipe I created. A few years ago, my plot group started having holiday potlucks. At the time, we had a number of people with dietary restrictions, so I set out to create a non-allergic fruit salad. The requirements were that it be free of gluten, dairy products, nuts and citrus, as well as low in calories. Because of my own fruit allergies, I decided to focus on a berry salad.

Cranberries are one of my favorite fall fruits, so I started with whole-berry cranberry sauce and added fresh blueberries. It was tart, to say the least, so I added raisins for some sweetness. Most of the ladies in the group gave it their blessing, though a few don't like cranberries, but that's fine. The great thing about a potluck is you get to choose what you want to eat.

Here is my original recipe:

Cranberry-Blueberry Delight

Ingredients:
1 14 oz. can of Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce
1 package of fresh blueberries (about 4 oz.)
1 cup of golden raisins

Mix, chill and serve. That's it!

The recipe serves 8-10 ladies. (The photo doesn't reflect the full recipe. It's what is left over after a couple of days of snacking on it.) I’ve also spread it on turkey sandwiches in lieu of regular cranberry sauce.

Since it's so simple, it's easy to experiment. Add nuts for crunch or sweeten to taste if it's too tart. I'm thinking about adding some of those little marshmallows next time for color and sweetness.

Happy holidays!

The Best Present
Ten-year-old Allison Harcourt's life has been turned upside down since her father lost his job and her beloved grandmother died. She's not looking forward to Christmas, especially since she can't figure out how to finish the scarf she's making for her mother. An unexpected stop in Sweetwater Springs brings her and her parents to the boarding house of the widow Murphy. Sometimes sweet things can be found in the most unexpected places.

The Best Present is part of  Sweetwater Springs Christmas: A Montana Sky Short Story Anthology by Debra Holland and Friends: E. Ayers, Linda Carroll-Bradd, MJ Fredrick, Paty Jager, Jill Marie Landis, Trish Milburn, Linda McLaughlin, Bev Pettersen, Tori Scott, Cynthia Woolf

Come celebrate the holidays in 1895 Sweetwater Springs, Montana, as ten Western Romance authors join New York Times Bestselling author Debra Holland in telling short stories of love and laughter, heartbreak and healing, and most of all, Christmas joy.

ROMANCE SUPER BUNDLE--AUTHOR LINDA McLAUGHLIN

Today we welcome Linda McLaughlin, another of the Romance Super Bundle authors. Linda grew up with a love of history fostered by her paternal grandmother and an incurable case of wanderlust inherited from her father.

Remember, for a limited time you can get Linda’s historical romance, along with nine other full-length contemporary romances and romantic suspense novels for the incredibly low price of just .99 cents. That’s less than .10 cents a book!

The first half of Rogue’s Hostage takes place in my home state of Pennsylvania, more specifically Pittsburgh, back when it was Fort Duquesne of the Blessed Virgin at the Beautiful River. Yes, that was the name the French gave to the crude fort they built where the Allegheny and Monongahela meet to form the Beautiful River, i.e. the Ohio. This is how I describe it in the book:

The four travelers stood on a ridge overlooking the place where two rivers met to form a third. On either side of the sparkling waterways, heavily forested hills stood against the blue sky. A green meadow stretched below to the point of land where the fort was situated.

"It is spectacular," Mara whispered, her voice filled with awe.

People who’ve never been to the area have no idea how pretty the surrounding countryside can be, especially in the autumn when the leaves change color. I grew up in Pittsburgh, and a year never went by that my family didn’t pile into the car on a Sunday afternoon to drive out along the Pennsylvania Turnpike to ooh and aah at the beauty of the fall colors as the trees turned to shades of gold, orange and red. It is indeed spectacular.

As I was writing the book, out here in fall-colorless Southern California--we’re lucky to have a few colored leaves by December--I had to rely on my memories and pictures in books. I could only imagine how beautiful the forested slopes were back in 1758 when my characters had to hike over the mountains to get to Fort Duquesne, my heroine dragged along unwillingly. What an adventure Mara has in the book!

Rogue’s Hostage

His hostage...

In 1758 the Pennsylvania frontier is wild, primitive and dangerous, where safety often lies at the end of a gun. Mara Dupré's life crumbles when a French and Indian war party attacks her cabin, kills her husband, and takes her captive. Marching through the wilderness strengthens her resolve to flee, but she doesn't count on her captor teaching her the meaning of courage and the tempting call of desire.

Her destiny...

French lieutenant Jacques Corbeau's desire for his captive threatens what little honor he has left.  But when Mara desperately offers herself to him in exchange for her freedom, he finds the strength to refuse and reclaims his lost self-respect. As the shadows of his past catch up to him, Jacques realizes that Mara, despite the odds, is the one true key to reclaiming his soul and banishing his past misdeeds forever.

ROMANCE SUPER BUNDLE--AUTHOR KATE KELLY

Kate Kelly is another of the authors represented in the Romance Super Bundle, 10 contemporary, historical, and romantic suspense novels available right now for a mere .99 cents.

Kate has had a love affair with books her entire life. She finaled in the RWA Golden Heart and is the recipient of the RWA Daphne du Maurier award. She has the good fortune to live on the east coast of Canada with her husband (the children have flown away.) She writes, grow herbs and perennials, and sails when the wind blows her way. Learn more about Kate at her website.

Kate is here today to tell us where she got the idea for Sleight of Hand, her contribution to the Romance Super Bundle.

In 1990, a theft of thirteen paintings occurred in the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. The crime is still unsolved and the spaces where those 13 paintings used to hang are still empty. To me, that’s an invitation to a thousand what-ifs. Sleight of Hand is the story I fabricated of what happened to those paintings and why they were stolen. I like to think there are people like Chance Spencer in this world.

Sleight of Hand
Suddenly suspected of stealing half a million dollars of original paintings, Chance Spencer can't afford to have the FBI delve too closely into his covert past. When one agent in particular endeavors to put him behind bars, Chance coerces the real thief's daughter, Sarah O'Sullivan, into helping him flush her wily father out of hiding. But his plan quickly deteriorates when the stakes for his freedom soar. How can he ruthlessly use the woman with whom he's falling in love?

ROMANCE SUPER BUNDLE--DONNA MARIE ROGERS

Today we welcome USA Today bestselling author Donna Marie Rogers, another of the Romance Super Bundle authors. Donna inherited her love of romance from her mother. Romance novels, soap operas, Little House On the Prairie--her mother loved them all. And though it wasn't until years later Donna would come to understand her mother's fascination with Charles Ingalls, her love of the romance genre is every bit as all-consuming. A Chicago native, Donna now lives in beautiful Northeast Wisconsin with her husband and children. When she's not doing the wife and mother thing, you can usually find her sitting at the computer, creating exciting, memorable characters, fresh new worlds, and always happily-ever-afters. Learn more about Donna at her website and blog.

I'm very excited for the launch of our Romance Super Bundle: Ten incredible, full-length romance novels on sale now for one extremely low price of .99 cents! What a deal, right? So let me tell you about my contribution.

There's Only Been You is the first book I wrote and the proverbial book of my heart. I sat down at my spanking brand new computer back in 2004, and had no idea what I was doing, but I knew I wanted to write a story. A scene developed in my head, about a family who loved each other fiercely, and I went with it. Eight months later, I wrote THE END, and the first book in my Jamison Series was born.

I've been blessed with many wonderful reviews, including 4 stars from RT BOOK Reviews which called There's Only Been You “...wonderfully heartwarming...” So let me give you a little taste...

Lies destroyed their past - will the truth end their chance at a future?

Sara Jamison has no clue where Mike Andrews' been all these years, but she knows where she's been - busy raising their son. Two weeks after he accused her of cheating and disappeared from her life, Sara discovered she was something she never expected to be - an unwed pregnant teenager.

But with the love and support of her annoyingly alpha-male family, she's managed to make a good life for herself and her young son. She even owns her own business, Sara's Bakery, which she's built into a thriving success. Sure, she works too hard and her social life is nonexistent, but for the most part, she's content.

Until the day Detective Mike Andrews walks into her bakery and back into her life...

She wasn’t going anywhere with that faithless jerk…

Sara glanced over her shoulder when the screen door opened. Mike.
“We need to talk.”
The pan she’d been drying fell from her hands and clattered to the floor. “Where’s Garrett?” she asked, attempting to peer around his broad shoulders while being careful not to make eye contact with him. As long as she didn’t look him directly in the eye, she’d be able to maintain her composure.
“You’ve always put him on a goddamn pedestal.”
She bent over to pick up the pan. “Don’t you dare say anything unkind about him.”
“He’s a pain in the ass.”
She shot up and faced him, despite her own self-warning. “He’s certainly not alone.”
A slow smile curved his lips. “Now, there’s the Sara I know and love.”
“Don’t you dare throw that word around. If you’d loved me, we wouldn’t be in this situation.” A surge of emotion tightened her chest, and she silently cursed herself for letting him get to her.
Hands on his hips, Mike sighed. “Look, I know you have every reason to believe that, but it’s just not true. I’ve loved you since the first moment I laid eyes on you.”
She paused. God, how she wanted to believe him. But if he’d truly loved her as he claimed, he’d never have been able to stay away for so long.
She swallowed past the lump in her throat and reached into the dish drainer for something else to dry.
“All right, I’m done playing. Come on, we’re going for a ride.” Mike reached out and grasped her elbow.
“I’m not going anywhere with you,” she said, yanking her arm free. “If you want to talk, we’ll talk, but we’re doing it right here.” She threw the towel down on the counter and crossed her arms over her chest to hide her shaking hands.
“You either follow me to my truck, or I’ll toss you over my shoulder and carry you there. But one way or another, we’re taking a ride.”
She gasped. Arrogant son of a… “If you touch me, I’ll scream bloody murder.”
“Then I guess I’ll have to gag you as well.”
He took a step toward her. She took a step back.
“You stay the hell away from me.” She took another step back and bumped into the table, quickly grasping it for support. Her pulse sped up, though she feared it was as much from excitement as anger. Damn him for making her…feel something.
“Not a chance. I made that mistake once, I won’t make it again.”
