Are you planning to fly somewhere on vacation this
summer? Checked baggage fees add a huge chunk to the cost of the airfare. Here’s
a great tip: If your credit is good, apply for a travel rewards credit card
linked to the airline of your choice. Most of them entitle you to check at
least one bag for free and give you $1,000 or more in frequent flyer points.
The cards carry an annual fee, but the first year is free. You can always
cancel the card before the year is up to avoid paying the fee. Some credit card
companies will even wave the fee for the following year if you ask.
